Saturday Afternoon Pottery Workshop 

Spend your Saturday afternoon slowing down, getting creative, and making something uniquely yours at Pottery Embassy.

This relaxed 2-hour hand-building pottery workshop is designed for all experience levels, whether you’ve never touched clay before or already have some pottery experience. Come on your own, bring a friend, or make it a creative afternoon date.

Suitable for ages 13+. Children under 13 are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult.

What you'll do

During the workshop, we’ll introduce you to the fundamentals of hand-building with clay, giving you the skills and freedom to create your own pieces by hand.

You’ll also learn how to decorate your creations using underglazes, adding colour and personality before we take care of the glazing and firing process for you.

You’ll have 700g of cream stoneware clay to work with and can make as many pieces as your clay and the 2-hour session allow.

Hand-building is wonderfully versatile, so there’s plenty of room to experiment and create something that feels like you.

Need some inspiration? You could make a mug, matcha bowl, plate, small serving dish, pet bowl, spoon rest, travel cup, or simply follow your imagination and create something completely different.

Everything you need is included

Your workshop includes:

• 700g of cream stoneware clay

• Use of pottery tools during the workshop

• A selection of underglaze colours for decorating

• Glazing and firing of your finished pieces

• Guidance throughout the 2-hour session

We provide everything you need to create. Just bring an apron or wear something you don’t mind getting a little clay on.

After the workshop

Once you've finished creating, leave the rest to us. Your pieces will be carefully dried, glazed, and fired.

Pottery takes time, so your finished creations will generally be ready for collection approximately 4–5 weeks after your workshop. We’ll email you as soon as they’re ready to come home.

Feel free to bring along your own snacks and non-alcoholic drinks to enjoy while you create.

Cancellations & Rescheduling

We understand that plans can change. If you need to cancel or move your booking, please contact Pottery Embassy by email as early as possible so we have the opportunity to offer your place to someone else.

Cancellations made at least 7 days before your workshop are eligible for refund less 10% of the total cost.

Cancellations or requests to reschedule made within 7 days of the workshop are non-refundable unless we are able to fill your place with another participant.

A little note about handmade pottery

Clay is a natural material, and every piece goes through several stages of drying, glazing, and firing. Occasionally, cracking, warping, or other unexpected results can occur during this process.

That unpredictability is part of working with ceramics and means every handmade piece is truly one of a kind.
